Ailene Estalilla (she/her)
Chancellor Award for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership – Staff
As Chief of Staff at the UCSF Police Department, Ailene is recognized for uplifting others, focusing on helping underrepresented staff feel valued and heard and advancing UCSF’s social justice and antiracism efforts.
Alicia Fernández, MD (she/her)
Chancellor Award for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership - Faculty
Founder of the UCSF Latinx Center of Excellence, Alicia is committed to achieving health equity and social justice in part by working to increase the Latinx physician workforce to better reflect the state population through training and mentoring learners.
Annesa Flentje, PhD (she/her)
Chancellor Award for Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex Leadership
As director of the UCSF Alliance Health Project, Annesa is recognized for advocating for research that aims better understand the biological impact that discrimination has on the LGBTQIA+ community and by building a coalition of people working together toward solutions.
Jae Rouse Iñiguez, MSHA, MA (they/them)
Chancellor Award for Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex Leadership - Staff
As Associate Director of Operations for the Department of Family and Community Medicine, Jae is being hailed as an advocate for the LGBTQIA+ and Latinx communities and equitable access to health care through the Training & Health Equity Collaborative.
Carolyn Sangokoya, MD, PhD (she/her)
Chancellor Award for Advancement of Women - Faculty
An assistant professor of pathology who runs her own lab, Carolyn is credited for founding a women’s physician-scientist group of more than 100 members that fosters collaboration and provides support and resources to uplift women across UCSF.
Jada Williams (she/her)
Chancellor Award for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership – Student
A third-year medical student, Jada is lauded for volunteering as part of UCSF’s Black Health Initiative to improve care and address health disparities in the Black community at the Booker T. Washington Community Clinic.
Ryen Wilson, MS (he/him)
Chancellor Award for Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex Leadership – Student
Leaning into his identity as a Black queer man, fourth-year dental student Ryan is recognized for advocating for equitable health care for patients in the LGBTQI community, especially those who are survivors of domestic violence.
