Statement on Vendor Security Incident

A vendor that UC San Francisco uses for trend analysis of donations to the university informed us it had experienced an IT security incident in May 2020 that exposed some UCSF information. The UCSF IT team assessed the situation and confirmed that the UCSF information involved in the incident was limited to aggregate data about donations to the university and did not contain any information related to any individual donor.
 
The vendor, Blackbaud, is a software service provider for engagement and fundraising offices in nonprofits, including arts foundations to higher education to health care organizations.
