Archive: She's a Stem Cell Scientist by Day, but UCSF's Elias Also Makes Time for the Tango
By Jennifer O'Brien
Laura Elias, a 26-year-old graduate student and researcher in the UCSF Institute for Regeneration Medicine, published a significant finding earlier this month in the journal Nature. Her work shed light on the way in which neural stem cells migrate to their proper place in the brain, revealing a mechanism that may also play a role in other developmental processes and diseases, including cancer.
