UCSF AIDS Walk Contest Reaches Final Stretch

Below is the schedule for the July 16 trek through Golden Gate Park: 7 a.m. and ongoing:
Park in the UCSF garage by entering at Arguello Boulevard and Irving Street. Tell attendant you are in the AIDS Walk and pay a reduced fee of $3 for the day, in advance. Or take public transportation. Directions to the park are posted here. 9 a.m.:
Sign-in opens for the Gold Teams at the Tennis Courts. UCSF is a Gold Team, one of the top 20 fundraising teams, and this line is quicker than the regular sign-in process. Walkers should sign in according to their team name and turn in the money raised. Those who qualify for any incentive awards from the AIDS Walk can pick up their award redemption certificate here. Walkers may redeem awards anytime before 3 p.m.

Proceed to the UCSF Team Table to check in, receive your UCSF T-shirt (with award-winning design by Judith Liao from the Department of Pediatrics) and coupons for breakfast and lunch. Those who received a T-shirt prior to the walk, should wear it on Sunday. Enjoy a continental breakfast provided by UCSF. Please note that volunteers at the UCSF Team Table may not receive any of the money raised. Money must be turned in at the Gold Teams Sign-In Booth. 9:30 a.m.:
Get an aerobic warm-up by Culture Shock. 9:45 a.m.:
Join the UCSF Team group photo at Hippy Hill. Gather at the bottom of the hill, to the right of the Star Walker Tent, promptly at 9:45. 9:45 a.m.:
Opening ceremony begins. 10:30 a.m.:
It's time to begin the 10-kilometer walk. Noon- 2 p.m.:
Pick up your lunch at the UCSF Team Table. Lunch provided by UCSF. Entertainment in Sharon Meadow begins, featuring DJs from Energy 92.7, alternative rock band Finding Mercury and reggae band Native Elements. 2:30 p.m.:
Official announcement is made on how much money was raised by walkers this year. After the walk:
