UCSF ARI World AIDS Day symposium

The AIDS Research Institute at UCSF will sponsor a symposium outlining the latest advances in HIV/AIDS research, prevention and care on the afternoon of Thursday, December 1, World AIDS Day.
Helene Gayle, MD, MPH, director of the HIV, TB and Reproductive Health program of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, will be the keynote speaker.

In the evening, ARI at UCSF will sponsor “An Evening of Remembrance and Hope: A Musical Observance of World AIDS Day.” The concert will feature jazz sensation Spencer Day and voices of the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus, with Kathleen McGuire as artistic director and conductor.

The concert will be followed by a reception in the lobby, featuring an exhibit entitled “Rattlesnake in a Moving Car: Life with HIV” by artist Rob Anderson, a longtime survivor of HIV.
