People who worry a lot or feel stressed out may be at a higher risk for Alzheimer's disease, suggests a study by researchers at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. They studied 1,064 people over age 65 and found those who appeared prone to feeling distressed were more than twice as likely to develop Alzheimer's disease within 3 to 6 years. The relationship between stress and Alzheimer's was much stronger in whites than in African Americans. They study appeared in the journal Neurology.
