Symposium on Women's Health
School-based sex education and preventing social aggression in girls are only two of the topics that will be discussed when the UCSF National Center of Excellence in Women's Health co-hosts the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation Symposium on Women's Health on Saturday, Feb. 26, at UCSF Mount Zion Medical Center, Herbst Theatre, 1600 Divisadero St.
The 16 recipients of the 2004 Woodrow Wilson-Johnson & Johnson Women's Health Dissertation Awards will be sharing their research on various women's health topics at the symposium. The public is invited to attend.
The Woodrow Wilson grants support the last year of doctoral candidates' dissertation work.
The presentations will reflect themes of international and cross-cultural perspectives, youth and family, women's health across the lifespan, and career and professional development in women's health. The Center of Excellence in Women's Health has an ongoing collaboration with Johnson & Johnson in a national program, "Fostering Excellence in Women's Health through Academic-Community Partnerships." More information about the program is available online.
