In November 2014, the UC Regents approved UCSF’s Long Range Development Plan (LRDP) to guide UCSF’s growth through the year 2035. In January 2021, the UC Regents amended the 2014 LRDP to allow for the revitalization of UCSF’s flagship campus at Parnassus Heights though 2050 with the Comprehensive Parnassus Heights Plan (CPHP).

Work at Parnassus Heights under the 2014 LRDP began in summer 2015 with two building demolitions and the renovation of the Clinical Sciences Building—expected to be completed in March 2021. The initial phase of the CPHP includes four priority projects in the first 10 years, which will begin their respective project planning phases, including community engagement, in 2021. The Initial Phase projects are the Irving Street Arrival, the Parnassus Research and Academic Building, the New Hospital at UCSF Helen Diller Medical Center at Parnassus Heights, and the Aldea Housing Initial Phase Densification project. Construction for the projects will occur after the planning is complete and updates will be shared at the quarterly Community Construction Meetings and via email updates. If you’d like to be notified, you can sign up for community updates.

Community & Government Relations Projects

UCSF is engaged in a variety of ongoing projects designed to enhance the campus and medical center, and better serve both patients and the greater community.

When we embark on any project, planning always includes engagement with the local community.
