Project Overview

As UCSF builds the hospital complex on the Mission Bay campus, it will require a variety of services including construction, design, project management, demolition and site prep, surveys and printing, and more. This project will therefore help boost the city economy, provide jobs, and financially benefit the neighborhoods surrounding campus. UCSF is voluntarily setting local hiring goals that are compatible with the standards adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco.

UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay

Voluntary Hiring Goal

Community Involvement

In 2010, the UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay broke ground on a 289-bed, integrated hospital complex that will serve children, women, and cancer patients, and UCSF has made it a priority to hire locally.

UCSF will will collaborate with the local community via:

  • Monthly communication with the community including milestone updates, review of local resident hiring goals and progress, and sharing of ideas to develop new UCSF/community partnerships
  • Collaboration with the community, including local unions, contractors, and others
